[[http://www.google.nl|Google]] heeft al een paar jaar een project lopen. Het zogenaamde [[http://code.google.com/soc/2008/|Summer of Code]] project. [[http://www.netbsd.org|NetBSD]] is daar één van de sponsors van, met een aantal eigen projecten.
